Kirsten Paige is a new Assistant Teaching Professor of Musicology at NC State. Her work explores how forms of scientific knowledge shaped musical practices and aural cultures in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with a special focus on global cultural and scientific exchange. Dr. Paige was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer in Stanford University’s first-year liberal arts program. Her courses are interdisciplinary and emphasize discussion, critical thinking, experiential learning, and guiding the transition to college-level reading and writing. Dr. Paige especially enjoys teaching first-year students because of the fresh, innovative, and exciting perspectives, they bring to the classroom.
